Top 7 Favorite Beauty Products for Moderate to Dry Skin|Review

Welcome to Makeup Mondays!

I feel like I need to start organizing my blog better. I’ve been debating on doing a Makeup Monday, but I guess now I’ve officially started. I feel like towards the beginning of each month I’ll talk about some of my favorite products I’ve been using, so it might not be every Monday that I’m raving about something “new” that I fell in love with. I hope that you guys get some good facts about the products I use and even go out and try them for yourself. I will warn you most of the products I will be using will be for those of you who do have moderate to dry skin. If I do find a product that I feel would be more appropriate for those who do have more oily skin I’ll be sure to talk about it! Otherwise thank you for stopping by and hopefully you walk away learning something!

Recently I’ve been picking up new makeup products that have been, either recommended to me or I was curious to try them out myself. Now, the products I’m going to be sharing with you, hands down have to be my Top 7 favorite products of all time. I’ve been using every single one of these products for over a few months now. The reason I do this is because I have extremely sensitive skin too. Sometimes I can only use a product for a few weeks before my skin starts getting irritated and I can’t wear makeup for a while until I heal. Hopefully the products I list are ones that you use too or are willing to try because you’re in the same boat as me. Let’s get started!

1) MAYBELLINE FIT ME Matte + Poreless FOUNDATION

This is my holy grail foundation.

Since I haven’t talked myself into purchasing more expensive foundation, for now I’ll stick with this one. I am beyond obsessed with this foundation. It’s super light on the skin and you don’t need much to get “full coverage”.

If you are the type of person that does get
acne a lot I do NOT recommend
this foundation to you.

You’d want something a lot more thick and creamy. I feel like this foundation is made for people who want a natural look, but still want to get away with the pleasure of wearing makeup. That’s probably one of the main reason why I love this foundation so much. I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to throw on much, so this foundation works for me perfectly. The one thing I’ve learned is this Matte Foundation helps with my dry skin. On my super dry days I like to mix in a foundation that’s a little more dewy just to help give me a oily effect. And I know it’s sounds crazy, but the more oily my skin looks, the healthier I look overall, (since it tend to be so dry.) I’ve actually tried a ton of drugstore foundations and this has to be the best for my sensitive skin. When I was in high school I use to use L’Oreal foundations. I loves the coverage and the color selection they had, but the smell of the foundation was probably one of the main issues I had. There was something in it that always made me breakout. So what I’m trying to get at is this foundation doesn’t have a scent to it, so it’s unlikely that will be the cause of problems you could have if you have sensitive skin like me. The only downside I have to say about this product is I always have trouble finding my color. You can always mix two colors though, which is what I do. Plus I noticed the lighter colors are more of a pink undertone and the darker foundations are a yellow tone. So you’ll always find something to go with your skin type…even if you have to mix some of the foundations together!

Depending on where you purchase this item it can be at least &7.99-$12.99, here in the US.

2) PÜR COSMETICS

This is my second top favorite foundation. I don’t use it as much as I do with the Maybelline foundation, but I love this foundation still. I can’t use it often because it’s extremely thick and it gives me acne if I use it too much. The one thing though that I love to do is mix a little bit of this foundation with my other Maybelline foundation. I feel like these two go perfectly together. I tend to get a color a little lighter than my actual face color, and since this one I feel like is very orange the balance of these two foundation creates the perfect combination for me and my skin! I feel like this foundation would be great if you’re looking for something more full coverage two. You barely need any of this product because a little will go a long ways, I promise you that. My only warning is I would only use this makeup if you’re going out and NOT for an everyday makeup look. I feel like since it’s full coverage and super thick it’s not going to be too good for skin, especially if you tend to break out a lot. Otherwise this foundation doesn’t really have a scent and so far I haven’t had any irritation when it comes to using this foundation. The bottle is super nice too. I love the kind of bottles that come with a pump because you tend to use only a little. The entire bottle won’t come spilling out. So if you’re a pump lover this foundation, I highly recommend.

*And if anything their concealer is just as thick, so if you need a quick product to just help correct the discoloration in your skin, their concealer is also amazing.*
I purchase this product at Ulta especially, and they sell it there for about $36.00. It's a little more pricey, but this foundation has lasted me over 6+ months if don't use it much.

3) MAYBELLINE FaceStudio Master Conceal

Now jumping into my concealer’s I’m a ride or die for this concealer. I don’t really need much because I don’t have bad bags under eyes, but I love using this product when I do contour. It’s a creamy concealer and a little on the thick side, but if you use a damp beauty blender it’s a super easy product to work with. If you do have extremely dry skin make sure before anything you moisturize big time. Ive learned with this concealer I need to be careful on my more dry days because it will catch the unwanted clumps of dry skin. And honey we all know that’s not what we want.
I can’t say anything else about this concealer, really. It probably won’t be for everyone, but it’s helped me especially keeping in mind that I do have sensitive skin.

Depending on where you purchase this product it can range from $7.99-8.99.

4) SMASHBOX Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Ok, so now that we got that super long title out of the way, holy crap! I don’t know how much I can take when it comes to this product. It has to be one of my all time favorite BB Creams of all time. Even though it is a BB Cream I like using this as a concealer. It’s super light and creamy and it’s a product that can go almost an entire day without creasing up in your under eyes area. I feel like with other products I have to use a powder so I don’t crease, but with this product especially I don’t have that issue. Thank Goodness. I was never really into Smashbox products, but now that I’ve tried this one I’m excited to try out more because I am loving this! The container it comes in is a pencil-like shape and it has a little twisty part at the bottom. Be careful at first though, because sometimes more products comes out than needed. A little also goes a long ways too.

You can purchase this product at almost any top Beauty store like Ulta or Spehora. The price range is a little tricky depending on where you purchase it. It can range from $25.00-$39.00.

5) Benefit Cosmetics Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter

If you want your whole look to come together a highlighter is a key to that process. My favorite highlighter that I’ve been using every time I wear makeup is the one named right above. I’ve had it forever and I know I’ll have it for even longer.

A little goes a long ways, here.

I feel like it has a little bit of a scent to it, but that’s maybe just me. So far I’ve had zero issues. It’s not a powder highlight. This highlight is a creamy one, so it’s definitely made for those of you who do have moderate to dry skin. You can pack this on because the more you have, the brighter the glow, and the more you will slayyy. I’m a ride or die with this highlighter so I’ll accept the challenge to finding a creamy highlighter that I can “love more than this”. The bottle is also has a twisty bottom so it’ll be easier for you to manage how much product you need.

I purchase this product specifically at Ulta for $30.00.

6) L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

I have a few different mascaras that I use. Out of all of them this is my top mascara choice. Since I do wear fake lashes I’m not huge on needed a ton of thick, gooey, mascara hanging out on my lashes. The brush is super thin so you’ll start off with a thin layer, that can easily be built up if needed. On the days I don’t wear falsies I love the way this mascara makes my eyelashes look. Since I have very small, thin lashes this helps with making them look extremely long. Plus you don’t get that clumpy issue you get when you are building up the thickness of you mascara. That’s probably the part I love best. If you do want to you can also add more volume to you look using another mascara that has a thicker brush. It just depends on the look you’re going for. The only down side is I always tend to ruin the brush, so be careful when you’re inserting it back into the bottle!

This product can be purchases at your local drugstore or even at places like Ulta and Sephora. The price range varies from $9.99-12.99.

7) Anastasia Beverly Hills Contouring Kit

I’m not huge on using a ton of eye shadows, so not only do the colors in her contour kit work for me, it also helps me get my contouring done in the process. I know everyone is raving about her contour kit, and I’m going to have to jump on that bandwagon too. I’ve been using this for over a year and I’m still in love with it. I’m not too big on cream contours, so I’m not sure how her cream one is, but I love her powder one! I’m more on the tan side, but I still use her original one which isn’t tan. I feel like I’m on the medium tan side so her powder that’s a more medium shade still works for me. You also get a good taste of her highlighter and I usually end up layering that one over my Benefit Highlighter.

This product is about the same price at Ulta and Sephora, or if you choose to purchase it online. $40.00-45.00.

Thank you for checking out my review. I feel like for my next review I’ll cover more eye shadows and lips. This time around I did more of the face. So hopefully this helps because the main foundation of makeup is concealer and foundation. Let me know what you think down in the comments!

XOXO,

Rae
